The study focused on two varieties of Goji berry, owned by Bio tree was held for the period 2013-2014 year in partnership with the Agricultural University – Plovdiv, Department of Arboriculture on experimental fields in southern Bulgaria. The data show, that despite the late date of planting (end of June) the both varieties (JB1 and JB2) begin to bloom and form fruits in the same year.
The conclusions present that in vitro vegetative propagation of these two varieties Goji berry leads to production of high-quality planting material with much better economic indicators. With stronger growth indicators the variety JB2 is superior to JB1, but fruiting of JB1 is significantly better than JB2 and the variety is more resistant to powdery mildew and other pathogens. Both varieties have their advantages, which our customers can value for themselves.
